Two Filipinos have been named to the upcoming swimming roster for the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France later this year.
On Monday, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) confirmed that swimmers Ernie Gawilan and Angel Otom qualified for the Paralympic Games. 토토사이트넷
Both Gawilan and Otom earned their Paralympic slots through the Minimum Qualifying Standard.
Gawilan, who won multiple gold medals in the Asian Para Games, had finished in the top 6 in the 400 meters freestyle and top 8 in the 200m individual medley during last year’s World Para Swimming Championships in Manchester, United Kingdom, which took place before the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou.
Otom, in the same tournament, finished 3rd in the 50m backstroke and 6th in the 50m butterfly.
The Summer Paralympics will take place in Paris, the same city of the Summer Olympics, on August 28 to September 8.
