The Rich Man Kiwoom’s Choice of 6 Draft Picks

Also focused on reinforcing pitchers. As if to make up for the disappointment of the pitchers drafted over the past few years

five of the six top picks became pitchers.

Kiwoom, a rich player in the drafting rights

nominated five pitchers and one infielder through the third round.

Kiwoom was the busiest club in the 2024 rookie draft held at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Sogong-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul on the 14th.

The announcement of nominations was also consistent as three trades added three picks, one each from the first to the third round.

The first selection was a first-round pick received from LG.

Kiwoom selected Seoul High School right pitcher Jeon Jun-pyo with the 8th overall pick.

Jeon Jun-pyo recorded 14 games, 46.2 innings, 46 strikeouts, 3 wins, 2 losses, and an ERA of 2.87 this year. 먹튀검증사이트

Lee Sang-won, head of Kiwoom’s scouting team, said, “He is a fastball type pitcher, and as his records show, he has a strikeout rate of over 9 per 9 innings.

Even on the high school stage, this level of ratio is not easily achieved.

“He was nominated because his ability to strike out batters was judged to be his greatest strength,” he said.

Kiwoom then selected Jangchung High School right pitcher Kim Yun-ha with the 9th overall pick in the first round.

Kim Yun-ha recorded an average ERA of 2.77 in 13 games and 39.1 innings, with 3 wins, 1 loss, 51 strikeouts, 4 walks, and 16 walks.

Kim Yun-ha received a lot of attention as the nephew of Korean Express Park Chan-ho and performed in a manner commensurate with the level of attention.

Team leader Lee said, “He has strong arms that can reach speeds in the mid-140 km/h range.

His walk-to-strikeout ratio is very good and he has the ability to control pace and pace.

“I nominated him with this in mind,” he said.

Seongnam High School’s right-handed batting infielder Lee Jae-sang was selected as the second-round pick received from KIA and the 16th overall pick.

Lee Jae-sang played an active part this year with a batting average of 0.408, OPS 1.142, 2 home runs, and 7 stolen bases in 91 at-bats in 20 games.

Lee Jae-sang, who is considered to have the best defensive ability as a shortstop among this year’s infielders, showed careful consideration by requesting time before selecting him.

Team leader Lee said, “He is a player with strong shoulders.

He also has power in hitting.

I think he will be a player who will show a good side to the fans if he comes to our team and trains professionally.”

Afterwards, Jeon High School left pitcher Son Hyun-ki was selected with the 19th overall pick in the second round.

Son Hyun-ki recorded 13 games, 31.2 innings, 3 wins, 2 losses, 46 strikeouts, and an ERA of 1.69. The 24th overall pick in the third round received from Samsung was Bibongo right pitcher Woohyun Lee.

Until the third round, there are 4 right-handed pitchers, 1 left-handed pitcher, and 1 infielder.

As the team is determined to rebuild over the next two to three years, it is expected that opportunities will be boldly given to the newly appointed rookies.

In his overall review of this draft, team leader Lee said,

We approached this draft by considering many aspects

including our scouts’ evaluations, trends in other teams, and the voices of fans.

I often called time before the nomination and thought hard about making the best choice.

We also paid attention to nominating players who would fit in well with our club culture.

“I think this draft will be very good for our team going forward,” he said.
