With just 10 months to go until the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the Hangzhou Asian Games will feature nine events with Olympic qualification on the line.
According to My Info, the information website of the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee, just four days before the Games kick off, nine sports – archery, artistic swimming, boxing, breaking, hockey, modern pentathlon, sailing, tennis and water polo – will be competing for a spot in Paris.
The top men’s and women’s hockey and men’s water polo teams at the Asian Games will qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. It’s a chance to win a gold medal and secure a ticket to Paris.
Archery will allocate one mixed team and two men’s and women’s individual berths at the Games.
Boxing, which is a continental qualifier for the Asian Games, has a total of 14 berths up for grabs, including two in each of the seven men’s weight classes, four in each of the four women’s weight classes, and two in each of the two women’s weight classes.
The first-place finishers in artistic swimming and women’s duet at the Hangzhou Asian Games will also go straight to Paris.
Breaking, which will make its Olympic debut in Paris, will also award the first-place finishers in the Asian Games B Boy (men) and B Girl (women).
Modern pentathlon will award five spots to the men’s and women’s events, while tennis will award two spots to the top men and women. The Asian Games, along with the Asian Championships, will serve as the Asian continental qualifiers for sailing, with 14 spots allocated for the Paris Games. 슬롯
