Inter hold on to key striker Routa—offer 5-year deal + $1.15 billion salary

Inter Milan is preparing to re-sign key striker Lautaro Martinez, 26, to a new contract.

Italian media outlet ‘FCInterNews’, which covers Inter’s news, reported on June 20 (KST), “Inter are looking to extend the contract of Lautaro Martinez, which expires in June 2026. The Nerazzurri have offered his agent an annual salary of more than €8 million, including bonuses, until 2028.”

According to the outlet, Inter considers Martinez to be an iconic player for the club and is looking to retain him with a significant increase in salary. Martinez’s status as the team’s leader and captain would allow him to remain at Inter while being treated accordingly.

More talks will be needed before Inter can reach a final agreement with Martinez. However, the Nerazzurri have shown a strong desire to sign him to a new contract and are aiming to finalize talks by December.

Martinez is a key part of the current Inter team. After making his debut for Lassing Klub in 2015, Martinez scored 27 goals and provided six assists in 62 games, attracting interest from several clubs before choosing to join Inter in 2018.

After a solid first season with the Nerazzurri, Martinez became a regular starter in the 2019-20 season. His best performances made him one of the top strikers in the Italian Serie A, and his value increased as he attracted interest from Barcelona.

Martinez then became a key part of the Nerazzurri’s frontline, helping them win the Serie A title in 2020-21. To date, Martinez 토토 has scored 113 goals and provided 38 assists in 248 appearances for Inter, making him a club legend.
