Hangzhou 2022 Para Asian Games Team returns home…

The Korean Para athletes who competed at the Hangzhou 2022 Para Asian Games have returned home after seven days of intense competition.

The Korean athletes, who finished fourth in the overall standings with 30 gold, 33 silver and 40 bronze medals at the Hangzhou 2022 Para Asian Games, returned to South Korea through Incheon International Airport on Monday afternoon.

The 95 athletes, dressed in white national medal tops and black bottoms, appeared with wide smiles as the arrival gates opened.

Team President Kim Jin-hyuk was the first to walk out, pushing the wheelchair of Korean team captain Kim Young-gun (Sport Class 4-Gwangju Metropolitan Government), who served as the closing ceremony flag bearer.

Chung Jin-wan, president of the Korean Para Sports Federation, presented a bouquet of flowers to Kim, who came out holding a large Korean flag.

He was followed by Park Jong-cheol and table tennis player Seo Soo-yeon (Sport Class 1-Gwangju Metropolitan Government), who won three gold medals at the Games, and Park Jin-cheol (Sport Class 2-Gwangju Metropolitan Government), who shared the gold medal in mixed doubles with Seo.

With a bouquet of flowers in each hand, the team made their way to the Korean Team Welcome Ceremony at one side of the airport, where they posed for photos with beaming faces.

“I’m crying at the thought of it being the last time,” said Kim Jin-hyuk, the team’s captain, “and I ask for the public’s support in the future.”

Chairman Chung Jin-wan said, “Everyone has worked so hard. I hope they applaud themselves,” and concluded the welcome ceremony with a chant of “Team Korea Fighting.”

Earlier in the day, the athletes held a dismissal ceremony at the Korean Athletes’ Village in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

A total of 110 athletes attended the ceremony, including President Jung Jin-wan, Lee Jung-mi, Sports Cooperation Officer of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Kim Jin-hyuk.

“I am so proud of our team,” said Kim Jin-hyuk. We will cherish the time we shared with you,” said Kim.

Chairman Jung Jin-wan encouraged the athletes, saying, “Each and every one of you is a true champion who showed their skills to the fullest regardless of victory or defeat in this competition.” “Now, let’s work hard for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games and show the Korean people a more advanced Para sports scene.”

“The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to do its best to support you to fulfill your dreams,” said Lee Jung-mi.

The disbanding ceremony concluded with Kim Jin-hyuk returning the team’s flag to Chairman Jung Jin-wan. 슬롯사이트
