Football Association Executive Meeting Be Held Today
The Korea Football Association will hold a meeting of the Korea Football Association’s executives on the national soccer team issue at 10 a.m. at the Jongno-gu Football Center.
Major executives, including Chung Mong-kyu, head of the Korea Football Association, will participate.
The Korea Football Association’s National Power Enhancement Committee (Chairman Thomas Muller) agreed to replace coach Klinsmann after discussing pending issues such as the results of the Asian Cup on the 15th.
The power reinforcement committee pointed out that Klinsmann lacked preparation for tactics during the Asian Cup and did not have the will to find various players. In addition, he evaluated that he did not properly grasp the conflict within the team and lacked standards such as team discipline.
He also stressed that it is impossible to continue as the head coach of the national team due to the loss of public trust.
In response, Chairman Chung will make a decision over coach Klinsmann’s future.
Klinsmann returned home empty-handed on the 8th after losing 0-2 in the Asian Cup semifinal against Jordan on the 7th.
Son Heung-min (Tottenham), Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain), and Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich) are considered the strongest players in Korean history, and they sought to win for the first time in 64 years since the second tournament in 1960, but failed to achieve their goal.
