Bae wins first multi-hit game in ten days

For the first time in ten days, Bae has a multi-hit game Greinke has taken two hits.

Bae Ji-hwan (24-Pittsburgh Pirates) had his first multi-hit game (two or more hits in a game) in 10 days.

Bae started in the leadoff spot and went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in the first inning of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 2023 Major League Baseball game against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, on Monday.

In his first at-bat of the game, Bae took a curveball from “224-win pitcher” Zack Greinke and sent it down the line near second base.

Kansas City shortstop Bobby Witt fell and blocked the ball, but the throw didn’t go far enough to make it an infield hit.

In the third inning, Bae Ji-hwan led off again and took a 144 mph fastball from Greinke for a two-run double to left field.

It was Bae’s first multi-hit game in 10 days and nine games since going 2-for-4 against the Minnesota Twins on April 19. It was his 14th multi-hit game of the season.

With one out, Bae moved into scoring position and scored the next batter, Keebrian Hayes, on a double to left field for his 42nd RBI of the season.

Bae was unable to complete the “three-hit game” as he grounded out to second in the fifth, flied out to center field in the seventh, and was hit by a pitch in the ninth.

Bae raised his season average from .237 to .240 (246-for-59).

Pittsburgh defeated Kansas City 5-0 behind Johan Oviedo’s first career complete game (nine innings, 먹튀검증 two-hit shutout).
