At 35,000 square feet, the Rincon Casino is less than a third the size of its East County rivals, Barona, Sycuan and Viejas. It has 759 slot machines and two snack bars, but no card tables or restaurants. Casino officials plan to add an additional 40,000 square feet of gaming space in the next few months and accommodate a total of 2,000 slots.
Rincon Casino is the second trial casino in San Diego County to obtain a state liquor license, after Viejas Casino got the first one in 1992. Rincon patrons can sip mix drinks, beer and wine while playing a wide variety of slots in denominations ranging from 2 cents to $25.
