Reyes ties for second all-time with 199 hits in season… Lotte sweeps NC
Victor Reyes, the foreign-born slugger for the Lotte Giants of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO), is one hit away from the coveted 200-hit milestone.
Reyes went 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI against the NC Dinos of the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League on Sunday at Sajik Stadium in Busan.
With 199 hits this season, Reyes tied Jose Fernandez (Doosan Bears, 2020) for the second-most hits in a season in KBO history.
The KBO’s all-time leader for most hits in a season is Seo Gun-chang (now with the KIA Tigers), who had 201 in 2014.
With two games remaining, Reyes still has a chance to break the record.
Reyes, who started in the No. 2 spot in right field, hit his 199th hit in the bottom of the first inning with the bases loaded against NC starter Shin Sang-hyun.
However, he was hitless in his next four at-bats, adding only one RBI on a sacrifice fly.
Lotte pounded out 15 hits on the day and out-hit NC 13-6.
Lotte scored three runs in the top of the first inning, and NC answered with single runs in the top of the third and fourth innings.
However, Lotte scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, including a three-run home run by Go Seung-min, to take a 7-2 lead.
Lotte added three more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, including a two-run double by Park Seung-wook and an RBI single by Hwang Sung-bin.
Go Seung-min led the offense, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs.
LOTTE starter Han Hyun-hee earned his fifth win in five starts, allowing two runs on six hits over five innings.
NC’s Ahn Jung-yeol and Lee Jae-hwan each hit solo home runs in the loss. 카지노사이트 추천
