MLB Atlanta Recruiting Released Merrifield In lieu of Injured Olvis
Atlanta called up prospect Nacho Alvarez Jr. from Triple-A as an alternative to the Albies on the 23rd (Korea Standard Time), and recruited Maryfield, who was recently released from Philadelphia.
Olvis, Atlanta’s main second baseman, fractured his left wrist the day before against the St. Louis Cardinals.
As a result of the examination, it was confirmed that treatment was needed for about eight weeks.
A big bad news occurred for Atlanta, which is ranked second in the National League East.토토사이트
Maryfield, who Atlanta recruited as an Albies alternative, was released by the Philadelphia Phillies on the 13th.
Merrifield, who made his debut with the Kansas City Royals in 2016, played with Ryu Hyun-jin (37, Hanwha Eagles) for the Toronto Blue Jays from 2022-2023.
Merrifield, a three-time All-Star, signed an $8 million, one-year contract with Philadelphia ahead of this season, but was released at the end of the first half due to a .199 batting average, three homers and 11 RBIs in 53 games
