The U.S. Regional Headquarters of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation announced on the 31st that it promoted kimchi to more than 5,000 audiences who visited the stadium at the “Korean Heritage Night” celebration held at the home stadium of the Montgomery Biscuits in Alabama on the 26th (local time) and 28th.
The Montgomery Biscuits are a minor league double-A team under the Tampa Bay Rays of the MLB, based in Montgomery City, Alabama.
The event, organized by the Korean non-profit organization A-KEEP (Alabama Korea Education and Economic Partner) and the club, was well received by the audience for providing a variety of food and attractions using kimchi.
The players wore hats with cabbage-shaped kimchi characters along with uniforms with “Kimchi,” and kimchi videos and images were sent to the electronic display and outdoor fence.

Since 2021, Montgomery Biscuits has held an annual “Korean Heritage Night” event and worn kimchi uniforms.
The U.S. Regional Headquarters of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation said that kimchi, which had previously entered the overseas Korean market, has recently become a representative K-food that locals pay attention to through the spread of global fermented and vegan food trends and various K-culture.
According to the corporation, exports of Korean kimchi to the U.S. in the first half of this year were $24.06 million (about 33 billion won), up 18.9% from the same period last year.
