His career started to decline sharply due to just one injury. In 2012, he injured his anterior cruciate ligament during a first round match of the playoffs and blew the entire next season.
Starting with Chicago trading him to the New York Knicks during the offseason in 2016, he lived the journeyman’s life by going around five teams.
The 2023-24 season averaged just 16.6 minutes in 24 games for the league’s weakest Memphis.
Recently, he cleared his remaining contract with Memphis and was free.
He told ESPN, I feel confident in my decision because I know I gave everything for basketball. Basketball was just the beginning for me. It’s time to give everything for my family. My family deserves that treatment.
